Ever since we moved to Prairieville, I’ve heard people talk about Blue Runner red beans.   It’s a locally owned and operated company out of Gonzales, LA.  Red beans out of a can definitely turned me off at first, but I figured I should give it a try, I mean, these are local people, I’m sure they know about some good red beans.  Sure enough, they’re delicious!  If you are ever looking for an easy and cheap dinner idea, pick up 2 cans of Blue Runner red beans (@$1.20/can), a pack of cajun sausage (Manda, 3 links, $2.65), and some rice ($1.94).  Add a little water and some Tony’s and you won’t be let down!
