Fonville Winans

I had been eyeing these black and white prints (all circa 1930s) from Fonville Winans at The Royal Standard and The Foyer for years but I never had a reason to actually buy any prints.  But recently Brett mentioned that he wanted to go get “some stuff” to put on the walls in his new office.  So, here was my chance.  And as it turned out, he loved it!  We got 6 prints, 5 for the office and 1 for the house.  For his office: a riverboat on Bayou Teche and a man using a cane pole, the architecture of the Vieux Carre, an aerial shot of (early) LSU, the St. Louis Cathedral and Andrew Jackson, and the 1939 Louisiana Derby.  For the house, a larger size of the St. Louis Cathedral/Jackson Square print because it’s where we got engaged.

Now, I need to go get them framed.  I think want to get a distressed cypress or barnwood…anyway, if you are looking for something to fill a wall or two, check out his work!
